Accredited QLD Christian Distance Education Backed by 40+ Years:
The Virtual learning Community (VLC) is operated by Hillcrest Christian College, an accredited Queensland school with more than 40 years of proven outcomes.
Classes are live with qualified teachers via Microsoft Teams. Every student has an ILP (Individual Learning Profile). SASEL, covering spiritual, emotional, and life skills, is compulsory. Life Groups provide pastoral care, well-being support, and community. And all of it is grounded in Christian faith.
Christian Values in Curriculum and Community: SHIELD values framework. Life Groups pastoral community. Christian worldview woven through curriculum, care, and school culture. This is a Christian school, not a secular school with a chapel.
ATAR Pathways. No Compromise: Faith and academic outcomes are not in tension at VLC. Full ATAR and qualification pathways to Year 12.

Your child learns from home, in live classes with qualified teachers, through Hillcrest Christian College's Virtual Learning Community, an accredited Queensland school with more than 40 years of operation. The full Queensland curriculum, without the campus environment that was causing harm.
Life Groups bring students together regularly for social activities, discussion, and connection, facilitated by a Life Group teacher. Full ATAR and VET pathways. QCE registered. QCAA accredited. Device provided Prep to Year 12.
Your child has specialist teachers for senior subjects and core teachers for junior years. They also have a Life Group teacher who knows their situation, works at their pace, and builds the programme around what they need right now. VLC students have access to HCC's own counsellors, psychologists, and chaplains, the same support resources available to on-campus students.
Life Groups' pastoral care gives your child a peer community. Small groups of students who connect regularly. A place to belong without the social pressures of a campus.

Our VLC offers a broad range of learning opportunities through individual pathways. We create an environment where every child can learn in a way that suits their unique strengths and interests, equipping them with the skills they’ll need now and into the world beyond school.
Rather than simply working through each subject, our modules are full of interactive, engaging units that build on core literacy and numeracy skills. We ensure that our plans are flexible and can be adapted as your child’s needs and interests change.
Junior VLC students form a strong foundation of literacy and numeracy skills through our enriching, integrated and interactive at-home projects that showcase their emerging skills and abilities. Foundational literacy skills are also taught throughout the innovative I Love Reading (ILR) program.
Our Middle VLC students build on their foundational knowledge and skills by engaging in Design-Centred Learning (DCL) projects; investigating relevant issues, brainstorming solutions, creating action plans, and reflecting on potential impacts on the local and broader community.
Senior VLC is the final phase of schooling, with a distinct focus on providing students with a foundation for post-school work and study options. It is a time when students’ identities begin to take a more defined form as they approach maturity and adulthood.
"We’ve been part of Hillcrest Virtual Learning for three years, and it has been an incredible fit for our family...I love that it gives us the freedom and control of homeschooling, while still providing the structure of the curriculum to keep him (son) on track."
